Lionel Messi may have pulled off one of the biggest power moves in recent history.

Apparently Messi had some wild neighbors and he was sick of it, real sick of it.

Messi’s Barcelona teammate Ivan Rakitic talked with Novi List and dropped this little tidbit about Mr. Messi and his neighborhood troubles:

“I did not have any problems with the neighbors, not like Messi in Castelldefels,” Rakitic said. “He had to buy his house from the neighbors because they were noisy and so he could be alone.”

As I was saying, POWER MOVE.

It’s not the greatest power move of all-time however because according to Diario Gol, Messi was planning on being nice and just building a wall between his crib and his neighbors. Building regulations and all that jazz didn’t allow him to do it so then he decided to flex and just buy the neighbor’s house. If he would’ve gone straight for the jugular and just bought up the house it makes this one of the ultimate power moves.

For a man who’s net worth is well over $200 million it’s safe to assume Messi’s neighbors weren’t some middle-class folks meaning this house he just decided to buy because he was sick of the noise was a large chunk of money.

It’s a pretty remarkable story. I’m sure rich people pull off these types of moves much more often than we hear and Messi obviously wanted to keep this under wraps as his teammate was the one to leak the story.

Imagine Messi just walking over to his neighbor’s house at 3:00 AM saying ‘hola, mate, how much for your house?’
